Our Mission
Journalism belongs to the people doing it.
CruxCraft is a publishing home for reporters, essayists, and independent writers. We built it because too many stories die in the space between a writer's notebook and a gatekept front page.
What we believe
Writers own their bylines. Every post you publish here is yours — the credit, the archive, the choice to sign it or keep it anonymous when the story requires it.
Readers surface the crux. Highlighted stories rise because the community reads them, not because an algorithm decided you should scroll a little longer.
Anonymity is a tool, not a hiding place. Whistleblowers, dissidents, and reporters covering sensitive beats need the option. We take that seriously — and so do our moderators.
Categories are a compass, not a cage. Politics, technology, culture, opinion, investigations, local — write across them. The best stories rarely fit in one.
What we won't do
- Sell your reading history to advertisers.
- Rank stories by outrage or engagement bait.
- Force you to choose between visibility and safety.
- Pretend AI-generated slop is reporting.
Write the story that matters.
Open the writing desk and file your first dispatch — under your name, or not.
